The American College of Apothecaries is a national pharmacy association that is dedicated to the advancement of professional pharmacy practice and serving the pharmacy profession.  ACA fellows are recognized around the country for innovative pharmacy practice, entrepreneurial mentorship and professional leadership.

During 1991, the ACA established an endowment fund to honor the Dean of a College of Pharmacy for his or her outstanding service to community pharmacy practice.

The 2013 ACA Dean’s Recognition Award was bestowed posthumously on Sid Nelson at the ACA Annual Awards Banquet during the ACA/ACVP/IACP Educational Conference in Dana Point, CA.  The award was presented by ACA Foundation Executive Vice President John Oftebro to Sid’s son Jens Nelson.

Sid Nelson not only embodied all that the ACA stands for, but he helped so many of us at Kelley-Ross become the pharmacists that we are today as our teacher, mentor and friend.

Thank you Sid!
