Dementia is not a normal part of aging. About 1 in 9 older adults have Alzheimer’s disease, the most common type of dementia. With normal aging, we can be more forgetful. Unlike dementia, it should not disrupt daily activities. It is important to be able to know the difference so you know when to talk to your health care team.
