Hobbies and Passions:
- Mountaineering. “I’ve been an outdoors enthusiast my entire life and love everything from running in Discovery Park to climbing technical peaks. I hope to climb the Bulger List (highest 100 peaks in Washington) and the Seven Summits (highest peak on each continent) in my lifetime. I’ve bagged a few so far, my favorite was Mt. Rainier. You can find me most weekends running, hiking, scrambling snowshoeing or climbing peaks in the Cascades. My husband and I also love backpacking trips and traveling to other parts of the world to see their mountains, trails and wilderness. Stewardship, conservation and trail work are also very important to me. We have to protect our wild places and pass them on to generations to come.”
- Family (including cats). “I’m married to my best friend and fellow pharmacist, George. We got married at my family’s property in the Teanaway Valley in Central Washington, the most special place in the world to me, not to mention the gateway to some amazing peaks. We hope to build a home there where we can retire, have a giant garden and play in the mountains someday. We have two extremely spoiled cats named Barney and Buckley. I love cats. George and I both have very large families and lots of nieces and nephews. We love spending time with them. My favorite memory of this past summer was taking my niece (2) and nephew (4) on their first overnight camping trip. It is so amazing to experience that joy through their eyes.”
- Reading and Writing. “I majored in creative writing and language arts come most naturally to me, which is the opposite of what you would think given that I chose pharmacy as a career. I love a good book and hope to get back to writing more of my own someday.”
