What sort of projects do the residents do?

Anything and everything. We want them involved across our service lines, across our divisions, embracing the full spectrum of what it means to be a healthcare professional. Patient care, service development, precepting, business planning, staff development, leadership – it all happens in various capacities. Some specific examples of past projects our residents have done include:

  • Development of HIV-PrEP program
  • Development of Hepatitis C Screening Program
  • Development of Hepatitis C Treatment Program
  • Development and implementation of Pharmacist-led Gender Affirming Hormone Care in a Community Pharmacy Setting
  • Implementation of Long-Acting Injectable for PrEP in a Community Pharmacy Setting
  • Precepting students at The University of Washington School of Pharmacy (UW SOP) skills lab, topic discussions, project development
  • Tobacco Cessation Program development
  • Incorporating spirometry and asthma/COPD assessment into community pharmacy practice
  • Expanding Transition of Care initiatives
  • Lactation Support Service Development in Community Pharmacy Practice
  • Presentations at the Poison Control Overdose Awareness Series
  • CE Presentation for WSPA Technician Day
  • Develop medical billing strategies for community pharmacists
