Josh Akers, Preceptor of the Year

As clinical affiliate faculty member and Community Operations Manager at Kelley-Ross Pharmacy, Josh was recognized by the University of Washington School of Pharmacy for his outstanding contributions to the profession in the form of mentoring and teaching Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE) students.  These first and second year students receive their introduction to community practice as hands-on learning at Kelley-Ross.  Josh and his fellow Kelley-Ross preceptors ensure that future pharmacists establish and achieve their learning plan, which consists of a variety of professional competencies. Josh and his colleague’s efforts help ensure that our future pharmacists are well prepared for their careers as pharmacists, wherever they ultimately practice.
