Pets Deserve The Very Best Care
A note from our Compounding Pharmacy Manager: Roland Lopez, PharmD, FACA, FACVP
As pet owners, we appreciate the importance of our pets, and the fact they are special extensions of our own family.
As extraordinary family members, what happens when our pets needs a “special” medication that is not available as a conventional medication? Special circumstances might include: when a conventional medication is not available, not palatable, difficult to administer, or contains an ingredient that can cause adverse events or harm to your pet.
In these instances, a compounded medication can help. Compounded medications are special preparations that are custom made by specially trained pharmacists, in collaboration with veterinarians, clients and patients.
At Kelley-Ross Compounding Pharmacy (part of the Kelley-Ross Pharmacy Group), we use the most current and up-to date references, techniques and equipment to ensure our patients get the very best care.
Additionally, we believe in leading the way in best practices as we utilize independent organizations to verify the quality of our work.
The American College of Veterinary Pharmacists (ACVP) is a professional pharmacy organization dedicated to advancing the entrepreneurial spirit of member pharmacists.
The College develops and disseminates educational materials and programs, serves as an information resource and works closely with allied organizations to enhance the veterinary pharmacy care offered by pharmacy practitioners
As Fellows, we work closely with the ACVP, contributing through education, innovation, mentoring, fellowship and training.
The Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board(PCAB), based on United States Pharmacopeia (USP) Convention standards, offers the most comprehensive quality assurance solution in the industry.
PCAB Accreditation serves as a distinction for compounding pharmacies by demonstrating a commitment to providing high quality compounded medications. PCAB, in combination with our commitment to continuous quality, helps ensure that we provide the very best compounded medications possible.
We are proud supporters and members of the Washington State Veterinary Medical Association. As recognized leaders in veterinary compounding, we have presented to WSVMA members on the topic of quality veterinary compounding at regional meetings.
The Society of Veterinary Hospital Pharmacists (SVHP) is an organization comprised of pharmacists working exclusively in the veterinary field, primarily at veterinary teaching hospitals in colleges of veterinary medicine.
As SVHP members, we have access to up-to-date veterinary drug information and clinical insights that ensure that our pharmacists are providing truly expert veterinary compounding services.
